Today I’m sharing my favorite Summer fashion trends 2017.   Some are similar to my favorite Spring fashion trends but most are new.  For VERY trendy items you might want to check out Shein because the prices are so reasonable.   For items I think I will wear more than a handful of times I shop for most of my wardrobe at Loft and Nordstrom.   So here they are….

Open Stitch Summer Sweaters

I have always loved a mixed weather look – a Summer sweater paired with shorts being my favorite.   An open stitch or loose knit sweater is perfect for Summer evenings.   I was actually wearing an open stitch sweater when I met my husband in college and he still remembers it (and got all sappy when he took the picture above).  Open stitch sweaters pair well with a lace cami (I linked the exact one I am wearing above) or a bralette.

Smocked Tops And Dresses

I wore a lot of smocked dresses and rompers as a young child so it’s funny to see myself wearing them as a mid 30’s mom.  Who would have thought that what was popular in the mid 80’s would circle back around into my list of Summer fashion trends 2017?  I live in New England so the Winters are very cold.   Smocked tops and dresses are definitely warm weather fashion.

Embroidered Detailing

This off the shoulder dress I am wearing is a knock off of a Free People embroidered off the shoulder dress.   The Free People dress is likely one of the best selling items of the season.   The embroidered detailing is so pretty and it has a forgiving fit.   I am wearing a small in the photo above.   Price aside, the Free People embroidered dress comes in 4 color options, the blue and white being my personal favorites.

One Shoulder Tops and Dresses

I prefer one shoulder looks to off the shoulder tops and dresses.   One bra strap is better than none in my book.   My boobs need the small lift a strap can offer :).    Inside my closet, this Summer fashion trend is probably the most prominent of all those I selected.

Round Straw Bags
