As a major denim lover, I am excited to share a current Spring/Summer denim trend, step hem skinny jeans. I had been admiring the few pairs I saw this time last year but never pulled the trigger…until now. Today, I’m sharing a few looks that include 2 pairs of step hem skinny jeans.
I try to blog about outfits that are within reach of the everyday gal (like myself). There are certain places within my wardrobe I can justify spending a little more. Denim, particularly skinny jeans, are something I wear most days of the week. I tend to become loyal to certain brands because I learn the fit and quality, which makes online shopping much easier. If you follow me on Instagram, you know most of my outfits are born on Nordstrom.com. Nordstrom has denim at every price point.
I love the denim shorts of the brand STS blue, but for everyday skinny jeans I find Rag and Bone have a very flattering fit (think don’t stretch out and leave a saggy bum). If Rag and Bone is out of your price range, I like that Articles of Society jeans have great stretch (most of their denim is under $60) and my blogger bestie loves Joe’s Jeans. When I asked around in my circle of friends they seemed to agree that Joe’s jeans were their favorite. I just purchased my first pair of Joe’s Jeans (that happen to be on sale) and shared them on Instagram. I can see what all my friends were talking about!! This pair is high waisted and form fitting which is my preferred fit. All of the jeans I’m sharing today are step hem skinny jeans, my current favorite denim trend.
Another place I can justify putting more money into my wardrobe is everyday handbags and timeless pieces. I am sharing a white blazer in this post that has a classic fit and look. Trends are fun to try, but trendy pieces will be in my giveaway pile in one to two seasons. A piece like a structured black or white blazer can stay in your closet for more than a decade. The structured white blazer I am wearing below is only $150, a great deal considering the numbers of times and occasions you could style it for. If you remember I styled a white blazer over a Spring dress a couple months back. I am wearing a size 2 in the blazer. I love that Nordstrom.com offers sizing recommendations (that I find really accurate) on most pieces.
Structured White Stretch Blazer | Camisole (under $30) | Long Necklace | Step Hem Low-Rise Jeans | Lace Up Wedge Sandals (under $100) | Convertible Hobo (similar here and here also) | Sunglasses
Structured White Blazer | Camisole (under $30) | Leather Tassel Hobo Bag | Step Hem Skinny Jeans under $60| Block Heel Sandals | Long Necklace | Similar Statement Ring | Sunglasses (only $12)
Pleated Top | Leather Tassel Bag | Step Hem Skinny Jeans (under $60!) | Blush Wedges | Statement Necklace | Pink Mirrored Sunglasses
So the step hem skinny jeans above are at two very different price points. I actually love both pairs. The Rag and Bone step hem skinny jeans are perfect for a night out. They are low-rise which isn’t usually my choice of fit but the stretch in them is amazing and I love the light wash so I made an exception. The BP step hem skinny jeans are a great price point but look more casual. They don’t have the same stretch as the Rag and Bone pair so they don’t hug the body quite the same.
Here are some other step hem skinny jeans I found at Nordstrom that I love at varying price points:
I have shared my love of neutral handbags before. I’m not someone who wants to transfer all my belongings from bag to bag during the week, so I prefer something neutral that will go with mostly everything I wear. Rebecca Minokff bags are usually my favorites. The quality and design are amazing at what I consider a fair price tag. My dream bag is a Chloe handbag…so if you know someone looking to hand one down – my arms are wide open!! In the meantime, I’m trying to grow a college savings plan for my kids, so unless Chloe starts giving handouts, I will splurge on a bag that is a few hundred dollars rather than a few thousand. Below are some bags at (what is in my opinion) a mid-range price tag that would be perfect for everyday Spring and Summer outfits.
Thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
