Today I am sharing Nordstrom Anniversary Sale cardigan outfit ideas and highlighting items that are currently stocked for public access.  I’m starting with several photos of a basic Fall outfit that includes all the Fall wardrobe essentials: cardigan, blanket scarf, layering tee, skinny jeans, and booties.  Almost all the Nordstrom Anniversary sale cardigan purchases I made during early access to the sale have since sold out online.  I did the grunt work and gathered all the sale cardigans that are stocked in multiple sizes for you.

One of the main things that sets the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale apart is that they put items on sale pre-season.  Normally items go on sale at the end of the season when you’re done buying. Not many people are shopping for swimwear in September.   Many retailers put cardigans on sale at the end of the cold months but Nordstrom got it right and switched things up.

In recent years I have started investing a bit more in a few wardrobe staples.   I found that even my higher priced sweaters pilled and wore out after a year or two.  Now is a great time to restock your closet.   The cardigan I am wearing is only $31 during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!!!   It’s super soft, not scratchy, and I love that it covers the bum (making it’s perfect to wear with leggings).

The skinny jeans (currently marked down $30) I am wearing have just enough stretch that they don’t get baggy after a few hour of wear but aren’t contracting.  I cuffed them to wear with booties.   Do you cuff jeans with booties?  There are some great denim buys right now.  I wear jeans or leggings everyday during the Fall months.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Basic Tops

I also stocked up on several basic tees and tops.   I lose most of my basics (because I usually gravitate towards white) to stains.  From sunless tanner to the chocolate from my sons’ pancakes, there comes a point when I send my tops away in a donation bag.   Here are some of the basic tops I purchased during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  I am loving a slouchy off the shoulder look if you’ve noticed lately on my Instagram pictures.

(Bootie picks sound’s pretty funny, huh?).

I wear booties most days of the week in the Fall.   They pair so well with skinny jeans.   The suede wears down if you brave the elements (or wear them to 541 orchards in the Fall) like I do.  There are a lot of great booties left in stock.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Scarf Picks

Scarves are a must have item for Fall.   I actually like scarves all year long.  They’re a great “third piece” to transform a dull outfit into something special.

I also can’t deny my love of a satchel handbag.  I was thinking I might splurge on an investment handbag during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale but the one I loved the most was this Sole Society option that’s really affordable.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Cardigan For Summer

Here I was at my local Nordstrom shopping the last day of early access in the same cardigan shown above but in the brown color (which happens to be in stock).   These peep toe booties (in addition to the cardigan) are a great transitional wardrobe piece that will take you from Summer to Fall.  If you haven’t tried a long cardigan I highly recommend this one because it’s soft (not scratchy) and the perfect length to hide your bum in shorts or leggings.  I am wearing size XS in the cardigan above.

My Favorite Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Cardigan Outfit

If you haven’t tried Articles of Society jeans they are a great brand that won’t break the bank.   Their jeans have a ton of stretch.  I own this pink cardigan which is not on sale but it’s a great piece (that I have in size small).

My FAVORITE Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Cardigan

If you remember from my post where I predicted what might be the hottest selling sale items I had my eye on the Barefoot Dreams cardigan well before the sale even started.   This is THE SOFTEST cardigan and it comes in several neutral colors.   I am wearing the XS/S but I found the Medium also had a nice oversized fit.   These over the knee boots are a great price.  I have very small calves and they are not fitted on me but they do not slide down.  If they restock (and you can afford them) the Stuart Weitzman boots are marked down $300 and are the best looking over the knee boots I know of.
