Ever feel like you have a closet full of clothes, but with nothing to wear? That’s when I default to my no fail outfit formula. This formula consists of these three simple closet staples you probably already have:
^ click the flat lay to shop ^
This is your outfit’s focal piece. Whether it’s a light linen for spring, a structured cotton blazer, or a wool blend for fall, toss it over your basics, and suddenly you look chic and polished.
You don’t need anything fancy here. A well-fitting tee or cami acts as the perfect base layer. You could also do a button up blouse.
Style tip: Tuck it in or do a half-tuck to, then add a belt!
High-rise, boyfriend, cropped, skinny, bootcut – whatever cut you love, nothing beats a great-fitting pair of denim.
Add sneakers, mules, loafers, or heels depending on the occasion.
This combo is comfortable enough for errands, polished enough for meetings, and stylish enough for dinner out. Plus, you can rotate each piece to match the season or for whatever occasion you’re dressing for.
I lean on this formula constantly! I’ve already shared a bunch of examples above, but here are a few more to give inspiration featuring one of my all-time personal and reader favorite blazers.
I broke my own fashion rule with this sweater blazer. I loved it so much, I bought it in three different colors! This is the heather camel color. Wearing XS.
This cropped sweatshirt blazer is also another favorite of mine. It’s a splurge, but the quality is amazing. Code LOVE gets you 15% off. I did find this good save option that’s very well-priced.
Next time you’re feeling stuck, I hope you reference this no fail outfit formula. Let me know if you do or find this helpful! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
