Faux leather leggings are a hot fashion piece this season. They are a great under $100 gift for any stylish girl – including yourself! Some of you own them already but have said you’re a bit stumped by how to style them. Today I’m partnering with Nordstrom to share 4 outfit ideas with faux leather leggings.
I prefer these Commando faux leather leggings to the cult favorite Spanx faux leather leggings because I think they look more like leather and style better for dressier occasions. While I love Spanx leggings, the coating on mine rubbed off in high friction areas (like between my legs) so I donated them a year or two ago. I’m wearing xs in these leggings and find the length to be great (keep in mind I am 5’11”).
One of the things I love most about Nordstrom, and there are many, is that they carry a wide variety of price points. These faux leather leggings that are a bit lower priced have great reviews, but unfortunately my size was sold out. This pair, under $50, is still available in a few sizes as well.
My mules fit true to size but if you’re between sizes, go up. For reference, my feet JUST fit into these in my usual size, which I like with mules because I find if they’re too big they slip off.
For a casual day out I love a good tunic sweater with leggings and this sweater is my absolute favorite. The price tag is a little high on Free People items, but for me this sweater has been worth it. I’ve gotten so much wear out of it and it machine washes well.
I love the color of this cardigan and it’s so versatile. I shared a bunch of styling ideas for this during the nsale. The cami has adjustable straps that make it great for small or large chested gals. It comes in several solid colors as well, but I love the leopard print contrast with the black lace.
I love these booties because they pull on, no fussing with buckles or zippers. Further, the heel is not too high so it’s easy to walk in. I find Steve Madden usually runs a half size small and I also always size up .5 in boots. With that in mind, I am wearing a full size above my usual shoe size in these booties.
Faux leather leggings can be dressed down too! Here they are styled as a casual athleisure look. I wore them with this legging-friendly tunic sweater as it’s slightly longer in the back. It’s also not too heavy, making it great for layering.
I can JUST zipper the vest up so if you’re between sizes you might want to go up unless you plan on wearing it unzipped anyway. Lastly, I love the rose gold in these sneakers. It’s subtle enough that it’s not loud, but still makes it known that you’re showing up to shine.
Saved the best for last! This outfit is my favorite. I just got these moto booties and I’m obsessed. Again, since they’re Steve Madden, I went up a full shoe size because I feel the brand overall runs small and I like room for thick socks. These leggings are long enough that they fit into the booties well.
This is the same BP sweater as shown in the athleisure look. Since it’s not too heavy, it’s easy to layer it under my favorite moto jacket. Speaking of the jacket, size up if between. I feel this runs a tad small but the quality is AMAZING! I have it in the coffee bean and the grey. I find myself gravitating toward the brown one more, but I’ve gotten so much wear out of this overall style. You can refer back to this post for tips on styling a moto jacket.
Now that the holiday shopping season has started I wanted to mention that Nordstrom has always been a front-runner for places I visit for holiday gifting.
