A BREATHWORK JOURNEY CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE, IT DID MINE!

A couple years ago breathwork was suggested to me by a coach I was using named Beth Larsen. She would suggest meditation throughout our coaching calls but I found myself having trouble getting out of my head. Beth suggested that breathwork was move active and would take me out of my monkey mind state. SHE WAS RIGHT!

My first breathwork journey I didn’t know what to expect. I signed up for a zoom call but did the replay of a live group breathwork journey. The woman facilitating the breathwork journey had said not to be surprised if emotions come up or if there were physical feelings like tingling or contracted hands during the 45 minutes of heavy breathing.

While the facilitator guided us and played a curated playlist everyone on the journey did a very deep 2 part breath over and over again. That is all you do. Breath deep to the music while the facilitator gives prompts.

At the time of signing up for this breathwork journey we were about to move from our dream home along the beach to a 2 bedroom short term rental that we own. Our plan all along had been to turn the larger home into an investment/rental property and we were building a new home to live in but there was about a year gap where I felt unsure of the next step. I was feeling unnerved about moving my family of 4 (plus a pup) from a 5 bedroom home to a 2 bedroom rental. 

I can still remember my first breathwork journey. I was not sure I was doing it right and then I felt a vibrating throughout my limbs. That tipped me off that I must be doing something right! During that process I saw a vision of my family (and dog) taking the golf cart from our rental to the beach. My perspective completely shifted from worrying about so little space to feeling like we were about to take a month and live like we were on vacation. So little space to clean, surrounded by tourists living their best vacation lives, we too could enjoy our vacation rental like a staycation. It could be fun, not hard, that was just a perspective shift away.

Since then I have been hooked on breathwork. I have passed the message to so many friends and across my social media. When I am struggling with a decision, need clarity, or just want a little pick me up – breathwork is the best tool I have in my toolbelt. 

I just got back from a business mastermind with The Millionaire Girls Club. Jill, who runs the events, was kind enough to let me share a replay of one of Beth Larsen’s breathwork journeys during our trip. All but one of the women on the trip participated and everyone said it was truly transformational. More than half of the group was sobbing in gratitude at the end of the breathwork journey. I was so grateful to have been able to introduce them to something that has had such a profound impact in my life. 

When I went on that business mastermind last week I was having some unease in one of my businesses. The trip came at the perfect time for me to pull back and take a wider angle view on the long term vision. I knew doing breathwork would give me the clarity I was looking for and indeed, it did. Ironically it is the only business I don’t usually focus on in that mastermind group but it’s the one that took most of my attention while I was away. I came back with so much peace, almost entirely because of the clarity I gained during the breathwork journey.
