A few years ago I stumbled upon a children’s Christmas story called “The Pajama Elves“. It is a story about magically crafted pajamas made by Santa’s elves to each child who wears them snug in bed on Christmas Eve night. The special delivery of these pajamas comes from the North Pole on Christmas Eve.
When I first heard about this story my older son, now 4, had just turned 1. I bought the book for most of my mom friends and wrapped PJ’s for their kids that year so they could start the tradition. While most of our kids were too young to understand at the time, Mac, my 4 year old, now looks forward to this tradition each Christmas Eve. (And by the way – now that I had 2 kids, I barely get to wrap their gifts, I no longer shop for my friends’ children).
Since I wanted to share the tradition and these gorgeous, cozy, kids’ Christmas robes I set up a mock Christmas Eve for my kids. As with most things with toddlers – it was touch and go. They were elated, then frustrated, then smiling, then grumpy, and squirming around for every picture.
So first my kids heard something dropped on the front steps….
It was a special delivery from the Elves at the North Pole. The personalized bag let them know it had come to the right house 🙂
Mac opened the package for them, eager to see what was inside…
Rather than pajamas the elves had crafted Mac and Cam personalized robes and night caps!! If you want Christmas pajamas I usually just get mine in the Target children’s section. They always have a good selection, including organic cotton pajamas this year.
Santa even brought a gift for mom! Monogramed Christmas pajamas and new leopard UGG slippers!! Now we can all sleep well despite the anticipation of Santa coming down our chimney. We excluded Dad since he sleeps well no matter what 🙂

November 28, 2016 at 3:11 pmI love this tradition, thank you for the ideas! I went and looked this up and they actually sell bags and clothing tags on the pajama elves website. I got the book, bag and labels for my son’ pajamas. Essentially I went all in!! Now I just need to figure out how to sow them in.
